The LDS research project focuses on the links between long-distance mobility, social change and climate change. It was funded by DFG, initially for 4 years (2018-2022), then extended for another 2.5 years (to 2025).
A more detailed description of the first phase of the project (“Advancing knowledge of long-distance travel: uncovering its connections to mobility biography, migration, and daily travel“) is available here. For the second phase (“Change in long-distance travel: uncovering travel activity trends, inequalities, and dynamics over the life course“) see here.
This blog will include posts with thoughts, data and findings arising from the project as it develops.
